Image Compressor & Converter
Batch-process images: shrink file size, convert formats and resize. Images are processed only in your browser and never touch a server.
Note: PNG is lossless, so the quality setting has no effect on it. When converting images with transparency to JPG, transparent areas are filled with white.
How to use
- Choose or drag in one or more images — they're processed immediately with the default settings (quality 82).
- Adjust the output format, quality and max width above, then click "Apply settings" to regenerate.
- Download each image individually, or click "Download all (zip)" to grab everything at once. Results show the before-and-after file size.
When it's useful
A photo is too large to upload to a form or social media; your website or blog images need to be converted to smaller WebP files; product photos must fit a size limit and need batch resizing — these are everyday jobs for an image compressor and converter.
FAQ
Q: Why doesn't changing the quality affect PNG files?
A: PNG is a lossless format with no quality setting. For a smaller file, convert to JPG or WebP and adjust the quality.
Q: Why did my animated GIF stop moving?
A: In-browser processing freezes an animated GIF on its first frame. Don't use this tool to convert GIFs whose animation you need to keep.
Q: Will compression make my images blurry?
A: At around quality 80 the difference is barely visible, and file size usually drops by half or more. Lower quality means smaller files but more visible loss — use the size comparison in the results to fine-tune.
Q: Are my images uploaded?
A: No, everything is processed locally in your browser using Canvas.
